Protection of Our Clients’ Assets
Trillium Asset Management Corporation (“Trillium”) has no debt, the common stock is totally employee owned, and we invest all of our corporate cash conservatively in instruments such as bank deposits and federally guaranteed securities. We are sound financially and can make adjustments in response to market conditions while maintaining our high standards of client service.
Client assets are not held at Trillium, nor do we ever gain custody of those assets even in transit.
Our custodian for many client accounts, Charles Schwab, is not an investment banking firm. Other client-directed custodians might engage in investment banking but we do not think any of them are in jeopardy. In addition, the custody business is by definition and regulation separate from the bank or brokerage’s own portfolio and risk-taking capital. All securities registered in our clients’ names belong to our clients and are returned to them in case of custodian failure.
